Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

Across the UK contractor rates increased by 6.5% compared to the same period in 2005, whereas full time salaries increased by 5% with the average salary being £50,000. The biggest increase was in IT related project management which showed a growth of almost 12%.

There were regional variations in contractor day rates – Northen Ireland saw a drop in day rates (reflecting a move to full-time), whilst Scotland saw an increase of 18% and rates in Wales grew by 68% (if you believe the statistics!).

13% of job advertisments at the beginning of June requested PRINCE qualifications.
